Great Basin Rattlesnake.  This had the most rattles I had ever seen on a wild rattlesnake. Snake river canyon with my friend and I at the top of the ridge.

My quest for the summer of 2000 was to find and catch the three subspecies of the western rattlesnake in the Pacific Northwest and I did it.  I went through Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado to find them.  Here are some of my images from that great summer.
